I had such a beautiful weekend away last week with some incredible women and I’ve been reflecting since on what made it so special.
The weekend was, for all intents and purposes, designed as a PR weekend, a part of a collaboration between Davy J and some other likeminded brands (Claudia Bradby Jewellery, Sawday's, Riverford Organic Farmers) launching an email competition. In charge of the guest list, I selfishly invited a bunch of women I know from various industries who I wanted to spend more time with and get to know better and who I hoped would be open and relaxed enough around each other to make for a great weekend.

…I couldn’t have planned for what we created.

In a world of what feels like an awful lot of negativity, narcissism and a take take take society, we managed to create a very special weekend where everyone ‘leant in’. Every one of those involved giving some of their time, knowledge and heart to the others around them. Giving advice, running sessions, sharing stories, laughing, getting involved -not in return for something, just because we could. We were sharing an experience, all felt valued and valuable and a part of something very authentic.

It's difficult to capture the essence of the weekend in words, but all I know is I want more of it! These are the people I want to surround myself with, this is how I want to spend my time and as for women supporting women - this is the sort of invisible world of support we need to create, cherish & celebrate.
